Hi there, I watch you two every day, and I watch the livestreams on Monday nights. I can’t get started with my day until I have watched the jackpot gents. I met Mr. Brain at the Tropicana in Atlantic City NJ, where I go about 5 times a year.
We have a fairly new casino where I live in Virginia Beach Va., the casino is about a half hour away in Portsmouth Va. (Rivers Casino)
I have been playing video poker for about 30 years, mainly double double bonus, but like you Matt, I have begun to really like deuces wild bonus.
I have a question if it’s ok? I was playing hot roll the other day, 3 lines for dimes, and I was dealt 3 deuces with a 6 of hearts, and a 9 of hearts, so a straight flush.
I couldn’t decide weather I should only hold the deuces and hope for 4, or hold the straight flush. Ultimately, I ended up holding the straight flush, and wouldn’t you know, as soon as I hit draw the dice rolled a 10 times multiplier. I ended up winning 600 credits per line, which was a total of $180.00. Ever since that day, I have regreted that play and wished I had gone for the 4 deuces, because if I had gotten it on any line it would have been 10,000 credits per line, and as much as 20,000 if I had gotten the ace kicker.
I was looking here on your site for the strategy charts to see if holding the straight flush was the correct strategy, or if I shoulkd have gone for the 4 deuces, but the charts don’t seem to tell me what to do under those circumstances unless I am just reading it incorectly.
Thank you both so much in advance for you advice on this, and also for providing me with the best video poker entertainment on YouTube every day!!
